Effective September 1, 2021, all DoD civilians, contractors and family members, to include active duty dependents, traveling to the Republic of Korea must have an approved Korea - Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) prior to boarding (except as noted below).
What is a K-ETA?
The K-ETA is an electronic travel authorization that visa-free foreign visitors need to obtain before entering the Republic of Korea, by submitting relevant information online.
Who needs a K-ETA?
DoD civilians, contractors and family members, to include active duty dependents REQUIRE a K-ETA. Service members do not require a K-ETA. Those with existing SOFA Stamp/A-3 Visa do not require a K-ETA.
How to get a K-ETA?

Although the K-ETA can be applied for at any time, we recommend no later than 48 hours prior to boarding a flight or ship bound for Korea to ensure you receive an approval in time for your departure. There is a 10,000 KRW (approximately $9-10) application fee and this expense can be claimed when you process your travel voucher upon arrival.

In the second line (address line 2) please put your installation of assignment (i.e. Osan Air Force Base, USAG Humphreys, etc.)
You will receive an email identifying that your K-ETA application has been approved; you can print out your K-ETA using your application number through the K-ETA official website www.k-eta.go.kr. Do not travel prior to receiving approval and have your application approval in-hand when traveling. The K-ETA is valid for 2 years from date of approval.
