CHEONAN, Republic of Korea – Marines with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Korea receive a professional military education class on the 2nd Republic of Korea Naval Fleet and their history of battle with the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea here, March 20. The Marines learned about the major Naval conflicts that occurred after the signing of the armistice agreement in 1953 following the Korean war, as well as getting to see the wreckage of a ROK naval vessel that was sunk during one of those conflicts; resulting in the deaths of 46 ROK sailors.
